HOUSTON (Aug. 2, 2019) – Memorial Hermann Health System (Memorial Hermann) has partnered with the Houston Dynamo | Dash Youth Soccer Club as its official sports medicine provider.

The Houston Dynamo | Dash Youth Soccer Club has more than 7,500 youth soccer players, and competes in 31 Houston-area facilities with more than 60 grass and synthetic turf soccer fields.  The club currently has 145 highly qualified coaching and administrative staff to support its membership base which includes boys and girls of all ability levels from the ages of 3 to 18 years old.

“We’re honored to provide the Houston Dynamo | Dash Youth Soccer Club with convenient, expert sports medicine and orthopedic care throughout the Greater Houston area,” said Tim Couture, Vice President of the Orthopedic Service Line at Memorial Hermann. “We believe Memorial Hermann has the best resources to care for these athletes at the highest level from injury prevention to rehabilitation from unexpected injuries.”

Members of the club have access to individualized care and customized treatment and training programs delivered by Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute’s affiliated orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, nutritionists, exercise physiologists, biomechanists, strength and conditioning coaches and athletic trainers. The Institute is also home to concussion specialists who provide thorough evaluations and treatment for patients of all ages.

Members of the Dynamo | Dash Youth Soccer Club’s West program will have access to the Memorial Hermann Sports Park-Katy,  a new state-of-the-art sports medicine and human performance facility opening this fall on the campus of Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. The facility is a collaboration between Memorial Hermann and Athlete Training and Health (ATH) to provide a full range of medical care and athletic training for professional and youth athletes, and active adults.

The Houston Dynamo | Dash Youth Soccer Club is the only club in Houston providing a full range of programming (boys / girls, ages 3-18) with a complete pathway for the beginner through to the collegiate and professional levels.  Dynamo | Dash Youth exclusively offers soccer opportunities in the highest competitive youth league in the country - United States Soccer Development Academy.

Castillo will become the 43rd player to commit to an academic institution from the graduating class of 2019 from the club.

College Committments:

The club will continue to work with the remaining 2019 graduating class to solidify their placement in college throughout the Summer. Players graduating from the club have enjoyed tremendous success since 2006 competing in the variety of leagues the club has provided: U.S. Development Academy, Elite Clubs National League, Frontier Player Development League, United Soccer Clubs Champions League, State Classic League and Eastern District Division 1.

In outdoor soccer, Savannah was selected as a 2008 into the 2007 Region 3 player pool with the U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP).  Region 3 represents the southern United States and includes players from AL, AR, FL, GA, MS, NC, NTX, OK, SC, STX, OK, LA and TN. Following selection to the South Texas state team, she participated in Region 3 camp in Montevalo, Alabama this past June where she played against other state teams and was selected into the Region 3 ODP player pool.  Region 3 pool players are further evaluated for participation in national camps, inter-regional events, international trips and inclusion into national pools.

"Taking teams for international competition outside of the USA environment helps within the process of player development.  The competition and format will be highly competitive and totally different to what the boys face in their domestic league.  Having these opportunities to play abroad and enrich different cultures and compete against top foreign teams is great preparation leading into the fall season." The A-Youth course consists of four course meetings separated by three development periods. The total course duration is approximately 5-6 months. The final assessment is conducted in each candidate’s home environment.

The club now has twenty five (25) 'A' licensed coaching staff employed within the club.
