September 6, 2023

The club's 12th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign organized by the Girls Academy kicks off on September 8 with 1,600 pink shirts going on sale across the club. The program is brought to you by Hunter Family Orthodontics. Last year, the campaign provided resources for the Girls Academy Program (GA | GA2) and a generous donation of $10K to In The Pink of Health / Memorial Hermann Foundation.

Over $90K has been donated to local charities since inception of the program in 2012, with more than 11,500 pink shirts sold and worn in the local community.

Quick Facts:

- Shirts can be worn by players (boy & girl) during their first training session of the week and as a warm-up training shirt for games throughout October.

"We look forward to another very successful Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign that will not only support the Girls Academy, but also a local charity that provides support and resources to those fighting breast cancer," said Marcus Watt, Girls Academy Head Coach / BCA Director. "It's a program that continually grows each year and has become a very important part of our club by reinforcing our core value of service. I would like to thank all the players, parents, coaching staff, team managers, and volunteers for their support and look forward to seeing all the pink shirts on the fields in the month of October."

"It is such an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign with HTX Soccer,” said Dr. Ross Hunter of Hunter Family Orthodontics. “The players do a fantastic job of raising awareness throughout the month of October in our community. My mother is fortunately a breast cancer survivor, so it brings me great joy to see all the pink shirts being worn by the athletes, knowing that a part of the proceeds go towards finding a cure!”
