FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 30, 2026
HTX Soccer proudly welcomed one hundred and fifteen (115) registered athletes to the Houston Elite Girls College ID event at Bear Branch in The Woodlands on April 24, where top talent from across the Houston area competed and showcased their abilities in front of college coaches. The event provided a valuable platform for players to be seen and recruited to the next level.
Seventeen (17) different youth soccer clubs were represented, with twenty seven (27) college coaches in attendance and nineteen (19) colleges participating. Programs from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NJCAA, and NAIA levels were all represented. College coaches were also invited to remain on-site following the event to watch Girls Academy matches on Saturday, providing an additional opportunity to evaluate HTX talent in a competitive match environment.
“The inaugural Houston Elite Girls College ID Event was a great opportunity for the athletes to be evaluated by college coaches from various levels,” said Willie Fowlkes, College ID Event Director. “Over the course of the event, players had the opportunity to be trained by a college coach, play and be evaluated in an 11v11 format. Our staff did a tremendous job helping organize and execute the event in a timely fashion, keeping everyone on schedule. Overall, an excellent event with huge growth potential for next year."
“Adding a Girls College ID event was a key club objective as we continue to enhance the opportunities for our players to be seen and recruited into college,” said Andrew Squire, Girls Director. “The first year was an overwhelming success, and our first-class facilities delivered in every way possible. We are excited to continue building this platform for our players in the future.”
The level of talent, energy, and competition on display made for an outstanding event while giving players invaluable exposure and direct access to collegiate opportunities.
HTX Soccer is Houston’s #1 youth soccer club and continues to be the leader in college placement and recruiting, providing players with elite development opportunities and a proven pathway to college scholarships.
The club extends a sincere thank you to all athletes, families, coaches, and college programs whose support helped make this event such a success.
