The club is very excited and proud to announce that Bryan Martinez (HTX Alum | West Texas University) signed his first professional contract for the Dallas Sidekicks that play in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). Bryan graduated from West Texas University with a degree in Business Management, part of the most competitive NCAA Div. II conference in the country. In the 64 games, and 6,480 minutes played in college, Martinez earned three All-Lone Star Conference honors, two LSC All-Tournament teams, ranked three times in the top 15 best colleges in the U.S., two Sweet 16 NCAA playoff appearances, and received United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region recognition. Bryan is the 13th player from HTX to turn professional.
"As a professional athlete in the Major Arena Soccer League with the Dallas Sidekicks, I carry the weight of those college accomplishments and the dreams of a young player from Houston, Texas," said Bryan Martinez, HTX alum. "Every kick and goal is not just a stat but witnessing the fixed belief that began on the college fields and is now reflected in the prestigious arenas of professional soccer. I look forward to helping the Dallas Sidekicks and being an important part of the team both on and off the field and competition."
"I am extremely proud of all the accomplishments that Bryan has been able to achieve despite all the challenges he has had to overcome throughout his playing and academic career," said Coach Alfredo Martinez, Boys Academy Coach and father. "Words cannot describe how proud I am of him stepping on to the professional field and seeing his dreams become a reality. I am looking forward to seeing how he can continue to grow and accomplish more of his future goals."
