FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 1, 2026

# HTX Soccer Welcomes Leroy Zuiddam to the Girls Academy Staff

HTX Soccer is excited to announce the addition of Leroy Zuiddam to our Girls Academy staff, bringing with him nearly two decades of coaching experience across the United States and Europe, as well as a proven track record in player development and high-performance environments.

Most recently, Leroy Zuiddam served as Girls High Performance Director at GFI Academy from 2023 to 2026.

Prior to GFI Academy, he was the Director of Coaching at TFC / TotalTech from 2020 to 2023 and spent three years as an Academy Coach with Houston Dutch Lions FC from 2017 to 2020. His coaching journey also includes valuable international experience, having worked within the renowned youth academy system of Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands as a Youth Academy Coach and completing a player development internship with FK Panevezys in Lithuania.

His coaching career began in his native Netherlands, where he spent nearly a decade coaching youth players at FC Binnenmaas and Lewedorpse Boys, building a strong foundation in player centered development that continues to shape his coaching philosophy today.

A lifelong student of the game, Coach Leroy holds the prestigious USSF A License (2026) and has earned a Master in High Performance Football (2022) as well as an Expert License in Youth Football Development through MBP School of Coaches and The Coaches Voice. He also holds associate degrees in Physical Education from Albeda College and CIOS Goes in the Netherlands.

Leroy competed for his hometown clubs, v.v. Puttershoek and FC Binnenmaas, before multiple knee injuries brought his competitive playing career to an end at age 24. Those experiences helped shape his passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes.

Originally from Puttershoek, Netherlands, Leroy first came to the United States in 2017 and now resides in Conroe, Texas, with his wife and their two young children.

"I am really excited to join HTX and become part of such an ambitious and respected environment within the Girls Academy platform," said Leroy Zuiddam. "I look forward to contributing my passion for individual and team development, creating a positive and competitive culture, and helping players grow on and off the field. My goal is to bring energy, creativity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to developing players to reach their goals and potential while representing the club in the best possible way."

"Leroy is a strong addition to our organization. He is passionate about the game and teaching players how to progress to the next level," said Andrew Squire, Girls Director. "His professionalism, humility and detailed oriented approach are key ingredients for future success in the GA Program. Welcome aboard!”

Please join us in welcoming Coach Leroy to the HTX family. We are excited for the experience, knowledge, and passion he brings to our club and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our players, teams, and community.

### About HTX Soccer

HTX Soccer is the largest youth soccer club in the Greater Houston area, with over 8,500 players ranging from recreational to elite levels, ages 3 to 19. Serving a 100-mile radius from Downtown Houston, HTX represents the true heart of soccer in the city and its surrounding communities. Since 2006, HTX has helped more than 815 players advance to collegiate soccer, more than any other club in the region. The club has also seen 67 players selected for youth national team activities, and 17 players go on to play professionally around the world.

HTX’s elite boys’ teams compete in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), while the elite girls’ teams participate in the Girls Academy (G.A.) League, both top-tier platforms in U.S. youth soccer.

HTX Soccer is proud to be home to:
🏆 2026 U13 Girls Academy Champions Cup Finalists
🏆 2025 U15 Girls Academy Champions Cup National Finalists
🏆 2025 U19 Girls Academy Champions Cup National Champions
🏆 🏆 Back-to-back USYS U13 Girls National Champions (2024 & 2025)

HTX continues to set the standard for youth soccer development and competition locally, regionally, and nationally.
