For Immediate Release.
December 16, 2024.

The club hosted their annual Winter Break Cup on December 14-15 brought to you by Chobani.  Three locations (Centennial Park, Dads Club Sports Park, Friendswood High School) hosted the event on the south side of Houston to close out a very successful fall season. One hundred and eighty two teams participated within the U9-U16 age groups and were provided a minimum of three games with all finalists and champions receiving medals.

This was the 11th year of the Winter Break Cup and proud to say it was the best ever.  I would like to thank all the teams, coaches, players, parents, referees and WBC staff for a great weekend of soccer," said Jason DeVore, Tournament Director.  "It was the perfect way to end the fall season with great competition on first class facilities."

“Making better food more accessible to more people has been Chobani’s mission since day one, and what better way to do that than showing up in our Houston community to fuel and support the next generation of athletes,” said Sydney Chernish. ”We share HTX’s vision of empowering our youth through sports and we were excited to be part of this fantastic youth soccer tournament.”

"Having Chobani on site to provide free samples to everybody was very successful," said Simon Boddison, Director of Soccer Operations. "The activation area was a fun, new exciting venture that provided something unique for the tournament setting.  They fully understand that youth sports play a very important and crucial role within the community and having them on site supported this concept."

The club would like to also thank the Fine Design T-Shirt Company for providing a quality product for the members and our guest teams to purchase throughout the event along with Photomules and Kona Ice being on site.

HTX will be hosting our January tournament series, starting with Copa Sienna 5v5 on January 11, Boys Houston Premier Cup January 18-19 and Girls Houston Premier Cup January 25-26, 2024.
