Girls Academy Showcase Fall 2023

Champions Cup 2

For Immediate Release
December 7, 2023

THE WOODLANDS, TX —The Girls Academy traveled to SilverLakes Sports Complex, Norco, CA to compete in the Champions Cup from November 30 - December 4, 2023. The teams played quality opponents from across the country within the U13 - U19 age groups with hundreds of college coaches present on the sidelines scouting the event.  The club improved their overall performance from last year by having four teams (2010, 2011, 2007 & 2006) advance to the championship stage of the Champions Cup. All six teams will compete at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from March 7 -12 with four of our teams competing for a Champions Cup title.

“It was great for our teams to be able to compete at a national level against some of the top teams in the country. The Champions Cup provides an innovative and exciting format for our players to develop and compete," said Brenton Saylor, Girls Academy Director. "SilverLakes provided a beautiful backdrop and great facilities. Our opponents, showcased youth national team players, defending national champions, and top level clubs. It was also great to see a huge presence of college coaches on the sidelines."

HTX Coaching Staff present: Brenton Saylor, Dave Dengerink, Marcus Watt, Jon Aspinall, Angie Rigsby.
